Kent

Kent is a bustling yet still laid-back metropolis in King County. A part of the Seattle metropolitan area, it is known as a manufacturing and aerospace hub with plenty of options when it comes to outdoor recreation and leisurely pursuits. Seattle is located approximately 20 miles away.

  • Kent’s first settlers arrived in the 1820s, spearheaded by Samuel Russell. In its early days, Kent was known as White River and, later, Titusville, until the name change in 1889.
  • Three areas make up Kent: West Hill, East Hill, and Valley.
  • There are over 70 parks scattered around Kent including Clark Lake Park and Mill Creek Canyon Earthworks Park.
